This season has been our best so far, with 14 riders scoring an amount of 1178 points, and bringing 270k of prize money, which are increases of around 20% compared to the previous season. We scored 9 victories out of a PB of 19 results.
Most of the season was spent in Div3 where we rounded up our first Tour (Montelbano) with a nice 5th spot on GC, thanks to Lanzo Lagorsone. Our Sprint team did ok on some races but we then stopped competing in order to prepare for an all-in effort planned for the last part of the season, especially targeting Fast on Wheels in Div5.
Today was indeed the end of a very busy 9-day period that saw the team score 940 points with 9 victories and 17 results in SP and TT races. In order to achieve so, no less than 8 riders were simultaneously in TF ...
Most notably both victories in the SC and GC of Fast of Wheels will remain the highlight of the season, our first jerseys !!
However it leaves us with a slightly bitter taste as today's last race should have been the one sending us in Div2, but both captain (Urmas Haapakoski) and its main LOs had an offday.
Looking back at our goals announced one season ago :
1. enter div 2 => as stated, we just missed it on the last race, but should be able to do so at the beginning of S56
2. train 1 or 2 SP talents => unfortunately our 200SP (Mejra) maxed after 90 points, and Mourao, a 190SP/AV CB, maxed after 71 points ...
3. consolidate the SP team => we have raised our team value by more than 500k in just one season, with the hiring of :
Lorenzo Abtato will be our SPTQ captain
Marzio Lagrasso will be our HLSP captain (he will join the team in
a few days)
Venjamin Sala will be our CB captain, one of the highest cobbler
ever in the game, though very old (but did not Duclos Lassalle win Roubaix at the age of 38 and 39 ??
Shan Zhihua will be a nice LO and captain when in TF
Our goals for next season will be to climb in Div2 and then enter many Tours and Classics with dedicated leaders in TF. Taking part in Nederlandse Tour at the end of the season is definitely a target :), as well as endeavouring to reach Div1, even if only for a couple of hours/days !
In parallel, we will be training two CL and HL talents, Vinx (200CL) and Lowe (210HLCL), and try and build something around one of them in case of a nice max.
